Married July 22nd, 2010.
We were lucky enough to be set up by Lance's stepbrother, Chris, who was also Christine's good friend from middle school and high school. Lance texted Chris asking if his girlfriend had any hot roommates he could be set up with in Provo. Chris texted Christine asking if she wanted to go on a blind date with his step-brother Lance. Christine accepted and the facebook/text messaging began prior to our first meeting.
Our First Date: Lance picked Christine up at 4pm where they traveled up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls. Since it was October, the trees were a rainbow of yellows and oranges and leaves were beginning to fall. We talked and walked for 2-3 hours along a winding path up the canyon. We then went to Chili's for dinner (which is still our favorite place to go), and followed dinner with a movie at Christine's apartment- The Proposal (ironic?). After the movie ended and the first kiss was magical, we both knew we HAD to see each other again.... which happened the next day.. and the day after that.. and the day after that....
We dated for 5 months before we decided to get engaged, although both of us knew from the first 2 weeks that we were madly in love with each other. Dating through Christine's first experience with Utah high school basketball, and celebrating our first Christmas together.
So excited to get engaged we didn't realize at the time that the next four months would feel like eternity! With Christine living in their current house alone, and Lance commuting from West Jordan, we spent many summer nights watching movies, cooking dinner, and getting icees with our puggle Ellie.
Finally on July 22nd we tied the knot for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. We spent a beautiful (hot) day with family and friends having our ceremony at 8 am and our reception from 7-9 that evening. Soon after we went on our honeymoon to an all inclusive in Cancun, Mexico where we enjoyed a week pool/ocean side reading and eating!
A year and a half later... we are still madly in love, have two puggles Winston and Ellie, have finished our basement (from cement to doubling our square footage), and have just finished our 3rd season together with the Jordan Beetdiggers.
Lance graduated from the University of Utah August of 2011, but
began his educational journey first at Salt Lake Community College where he earned his associates degree in Business Management. He soon followed up with the hopes of earning a teaching bachelors degree in Physical Education from Utah Valley University (while he met/fell in love with/and married his wife). Soon after their wedding day, Lance transferred up to the University of Utah where he finished his bachelors degree in Family and Consumer Studies: Human Development Emphasis.
Over the last few years Lance has successfully started and ran his own business, Road Runner Lawn and Pest, having the flexible schedule has also allowed him to pursue his dream of being a high school basketball coach. This is Lance's 5th year at Jordan High School coaching this sophomore team, and his 6th year of coaching high school overall.
Lance served his mission of two years in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin mission where he learned to love the cold weather and enjoy cheese.
Currently, Lance spends the majority of his evenings playing on a variety of recreation basketball leagues with friends and players. He has won the top three point scorer award 4 times as well as numerous team championships. We had to get a whole room to showcase his dedication and love of basketball.
Christine graduated from Brigham Young University in April of 2011 with a bachelors degree in Exercise and Wellness Emphasis: Business management. With having finished her bachelors degree in just 3 years, she was itching to continue on with school and was accepted and enrolled in a RN Nursing program at Eagle Gate College: Salt Lake City. She is currently in her 2nd of 5 semesters and is looking forward to graduation May or 2013. Christine has worked as a Nurse Assistant and Secretary for Intermountain Healthcare for over a year and continues to love interacting with patients and learning more about the nursing profession.
Christine moved to Provo, UT from Las Vegas when she graduated from high school and was accepted to BYU. After just two years there she met/fell in love with/and married her husband, who brought her to Salt Lake City permanently. She loves and misses the warm weather of Las Vegas and hopes when school is over there might be more road trips home.
