Nursery almost complete...

I've spent the last week diligently constructing the nursery for our little boy.  Lance and my dad planned on painting it but with the recent passing of my grandma my dad had to journey to New York unexpectedly.  If you know me then you know I am a VERY impatient person... so last Monday I took it upon myself to go buy a gallon of paint and get things rolling...

I painted 97% of the room (theres a spot above the closet my belly wouldn't allow me to reach so Lance finished that portion).  After painting I then assembled the crib, drove to ikea with Lance and bought the dresser, then stayed up until nearly 1am assembling the dresser.  Tuesday I continued the craziness in assembling the dresser, washing clothes and blankets and getting things put away.  Wednesday & Thursday were spent at work and Friday was another day I dedicated to assembling baby products including his new swing, bouncer, and pack 'n' play.  There are still a bunch of projects and decorating left to do in the nursery, but at least if he came home now we would have a place for him to sleep!

thirty six & a baby's blessing

Yesterday was another wonderful day spent with wonderful people.  Robert blessed their 2nd little girl Lousia Pia.  It was honestly one of the most touching and beautiful blessing I have ever heard.  I don't know if I'm just an emotional prego, or what but I was in tears multiple times throughout the testimony meeting.   I am just so happy for them and their growing family.  We spent the afternoon at their house going through lists of baby names since Lance refuses to set our little one's name in stone.  Robert's dad came up with some pretty unique suggestions... many of which were his horses names.
Liam entertaining himself at the luncheon dressed like a stud.
After the blessing we drove up to Lance's dad's house for Sunday dinner.  Lance joining in on the pregnancy posing...

Best moment this week:  Baby Blessing of our dear friends & setting up the nursery.
Food cravings: cinnamon rolls
Anything making you queasy or sick: nauseated randomly one day I had to call into the office to get some zofran for me to be able to make it through the work day.

Happy or Moody most of the time: happy, but exhausted and with a headache everyday for the last week.
Looking forward to: my appt tomorrow where my progress will the checked for the first time.

Showers part 2

Last weekend my dear friends Laura and Jessie hosted a lovely baby shower.  The shower was filled with GREAT food, wonderful friends and family.  It was a smaller, more intimate group compared to my previous shower, but it was so lovely to see some of my friends from our former ward in Holladay.  I'm a little bummed I didn't take any pictures of the shower myself, but Laura got some great pictures... so I stole them from her :).

I am so grateful to my husband for having such great friends.  Lance has had the same 3 best friends since junior high.  Each one of the three married a wonderful gal and through our 4 marriages us 4 girls have become the best of friends.  These girls are my vacation companions, and weekly hangout friends and honestly our go to people when we want to be social.  Jessie and Laura each have two beautiful children whom I adore.  I have loved having them go first that way I have them to turn to when this whole parenting thing becomes real in a matter of weeks.  They are truly wonderful women and mothers!  Thank you for hosting my baby shower and for being wonderful amazing friends!

Showers!

A lovely shower was hosted by my dear friend and college roommate Brooke Merrill with food provided by my mother in law and sister in law.  It was a lovely Saturday filled with good food, great friends.  I'm so grateful for the many women in my life who showcase such love, warmth, and are such great examples of motherhood.  I truly look up to these women and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to share this day with them.
I am sad I didn't get a picture with everyone who came, but my home was filled with family, great work friends, and Jordan basketball alumni moms.  Thanks to all who came!

yes... my mother in law even included dippin dots as part of the menu!

Thank you again Brooke!!!!
We spent the remainder of the afternoon with family and enjoying one of the last days of summer letting the puppies get some energy out....
